THE BUCKET HAT WAS FIRST CONCEIVED IN THE EARLY 1900'S AS A PURELY FUNCTIONAL ITEM WORN BY IRISH FARMERS AND FISHERMEN AS A PROTECTION FROM THE RAIN, WHICH WAS MADE POSSIBLE BY ITS WIDE DOWNWARD-SLANTING BRIM. THE FACT THAT IS CAN BE FOLDED TO FIT INSIDE A POCKET WAS ALSO A MAJOR APPEAL.

THE FABRIC IS AN ENLISH HEAVY 470G COTTON CORDUROY FROM BRISBANE MOSS, WEAVERS OF CORDUROY FABRIC SINCE THE MIDDLE OF THE 19TH CENTURY. JAPANESE GROSGRAIN FROM MOKUBA.

MADE IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE BY MTM HEADWEAR.
