Notes and Care Guide - Souvenir Jacket Sept 2021

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The Souvenir Jacket originated shortly after World War II in occupied Japan. American soldiers who served in the Pacific Theatre commissioned these beautifully hand embroidered jackets as a memento of their travels and time abroad.

For our embroidery, we have collaborated for the second year in a row with the Japanese artist Takeru Amano and input our signature Grosgrain as shoulder straps on the inside that allow you to wear the jacket as a backpack, thus keeping your arms free. The extra lightweight cotton fabric is made by Blue Japan Ltd and looks like the old vintage military shirts. Zip from YKK.

Manufactured near Porto in Portugal by Texmin.
